The Connemara Giant in County Galway

The Irish sense of humor is well understood in this carving of the Connemara Giant in County Galway. The plaque says “This is Connemara (Conn son of the sea), Built in 1999 by Joyce’s Craft Shop for no apparent reason.”

Ditto to what Lisa said! It's a gorgeous statue with great detail ... but the best detail is the inscription.
