Irish Euros, Faeries and Kansas City Irish Fest

Irish Faeries

Irish Faeries

I am beyond thrilled to finally share this news! A few weeks ago I was approached by the Kansas City Irish Fest, who inquired about my interest in speaking on the Heritage Stage about traveling with kids in Ireland.  As I love to share my passion with anyone who will listen I accepted without a second thought…

Then came the wait; while the organizer thought I would be a great addition, he had to gain approval from the board.  And he did!

I am speaking at Kansas City Irish Fest!

I’ll be sharing all kinds of tips- from packing to handling the flight, sights to see and distractions to keep your kids entertained.  It should be a terrific discussion and I am really looking forward to it.  After the presentation I will have an area set up for one-on-one discussion where people will also be able to purchase my Family Rambling Travel Journal and learn more about traveling with kids.

In addition to my appearance on the Heritage Stage, I will be sharing travel tales over at the Children’s Stage on both Saturday and Sunday.

Which is where the Irish euros come in…  The have to do with a faerie game we play with our daughters.  I thought it would be great fun to present the children we meet at Irish Fest with a “faerie coin” of their very own.  As the 1¢ and 2¢ euro are so tiny, they are perfect for this.

I have received quite a few coins- direct from special faeries in Ireland- but would love to have more!  If you have any 1¢ or 2¢ Irish euros (with the harp on them) that you would like to donate to my Faerie Coin Project, please leave a comment and I will email my mailing address to you.  With your help I’ll share the magic of Ireland one penny at a time!

** My current schedule is:  Saturday 3pm at the Children’s Stage and 4 pm at the Heritage Stage; Sunday 3 pm at the Children’s Stage.  If you come to KCIF be sure to let me know!  Tweet me @iatraveler.  I’ll be there all weekend, in an out of the Snug on Saturday and at every show Gaelic Storm does.  Let’s chat over a pint!

Did you have an incredible family vacation in Ireland? Maybe a favorite photo or treasured memory of Ireland? Share it on Ireland With Kids!
